Sale of Submarine Depot Ship to Chile
In 1928, Chile proposed to purchase from Britain a Submarine Depot ship. Head of M. considered that it would be ‘inviting trouble’ to try and maintain that the vessel is a floating workshop – she has had a gun or guns on board, and they can be put again on board if the vessel was sold without them.
