This museum is located within the original Bangkok Naval Dockyard, which builds vessels up to and including OPVs, as well as performing maintenance for small craft of various Government departments. Frigates and larger ships are no longer able to access the dockyard due to the height of bridges downstream. This museum is apparently open to the public, however visits must be pre-arranged, and require a minimum of ten participants. This is a museum I had been trying to get access to for several years, but had been unable to identify the correct point of contact. It is a facilitated visit, which means that you are escorted for the entire visit, and given a running commentary by the staff. There are many interesting exhibits here, including physical artefacts relating to shipbuilding and the dockyard. You also get to see a building which is still riddled with bullet holes from a battle between the Thai Navy and the Thai Air Force!The Naval Dockyard is on the West bank of the Bangkok river, and about a 20-minute taxi ride from the nearest BTS station.
