Patrol Boat 813 “Buretpadungkit” was built in 1994 by Marson Company Limited in Samut Prakarn Province for the Thai Marine Police.
When the Boxing Day tsunami hit Thailand in December 2004, “Buretpadungkit” was anchoring about 1 nautical mile off the coast of Khao Lak, protecting a royal princess and her family. The vessel was swept about 2km inland by the Tsunami, killing the entire crew, and is now preserved as a memorial where she ended up - just off the main street of Khao Lak - and a long way from the coast.
