Short-term Hire of Minesweepers by Latvia
Around 2 May 1922, Latvia enquired about hiring four shallow-draft minesweepers, complete with crews, from Britain for a period of four months to sweep the Gulf of Riga. The Admiralty were willing to provide the vessels but insisted that the Latvians hire the crews directly.
