Alta was an Adjutant class minesweeper originally supplied to the Belgian Navy, but Belgium and Norway did a deal to swap a couple of Norwegian MSOs for Belgian MSCs, and she ended up in Norway. Since 1995 she has technically belonged to the Norwegian Armed Forces Museum but has practically been operated and maintained by a non-profit trust. Their claim to fame is that the ships is better maintained now than she was when in Naval Service, and they still take her to sea every year, including occasionally doing foreign visits.Alta is berthed in central Oslo near the ferry terminals. Unfortunately, they don't open her to visitors during the winter, so I had to satisfy myself with photographing her from the jetty.
