After taking a few days out to drive from one side of the continent to the other, I got back into the swing of things today.First stop was the International Maritimes Museum in Hamburg.This museum is pretty extensive - spreading over nine floors, and includes one of the largest collections of ship models I have come across. They also had two complete German midget submarines from WW2 - a Molch and a Seehund. I have seen a few Seehund's before, but this was my first Molch (although apparently there is another one in a museum in Johannesburg, South Africa!).The other highlight for me was the bookshop - which had a really good selection of second-hand books in both English and German. Unfortunately my purchasing capacity was limited by my ability to carry the books back to the hotel via public transport, but I have now got long sought-after copies of R&R's books on British Battleships and British Cruisers of WW2, plus Die Deutschen Kriegsschiffe - which is the size and weight of a small windowless building - god knows how I am going to fit them into my luggage allowance to get home - but that is a problem for another day.Another museum well worth the visit.
